Approximately 49 tourists visited Leshi Township, Sagaing Region to take part in the Naga New Year festival for 2019, according to a source from the Department of Immigration and Population under the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population.

A total of 49 foreign travellers—33 men and 16 women—from Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, France, Israel, United States, Canada, Czech Republic, Italy, South Korea and Spain toured Leshi Township to celebrate the 2019 Naga New Year festival. “Foreigners flock to Leshi Township in open season especially during the Naga New Year festival. But the number of tourists who visit the far-flung area in the remaining season is very low when compared to open season, said U Kyaw Soe Moe, the staff officer from the township’s Immigration and Population Department.
