A ceremony to open a new market developed by Township Development Committee in Myoma Ward in Thayatchaung, Dawei District, Taninthayi Region was held at the market this morning.

At the ceremony, an official from the Township Development Committee clarified salient points of the project and U Thet Lwin Oo, director of the committee handed over documents related to the new facility to Taninthayi Chief Minister Dr. Le Le Maw.

The new facility was formally opened by regional minister for social affairs and development U Hopin, MP U Aung Soe of Pyithu Hluttaw, chairman of the Township Development Committee U Than Myint. The regional chief minister pressed the button to open the signboard of new market and looked round the new market.

The old market is developed into a two-storey market which is 96 feet long, 56 feet wide and 26 feet high on the side of Myeik-Dawei Road. The new market was constructed at a cost of K 239 million on 19 May 2018.
