THE National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) has stated on its Facebook page that gallery exhibits and displays in the Historical Period (11th-14th century AD) have not been damaged.
It is one of the two national museums in Myanmar and is located near the Kumudra Lotus Circle, Rajasingaha Road, Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.
The National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) had announced that it would be closed until further notice due to the damage caused by the Mandalay earthquake that struck on 28 March.
“The exhibition was properly organized, so the main exhibition items in the Historical Period (11th-14th century AD) gallery, including the replicas of the pagodas, sandstone statues, the three iconic pagodas of Bagan, and the dome that displays a panoramic view of Bagan, were not damaged by the Mandalay earthquake,” the statement said, along with recent photos. — Htet Oo Maung/ ZN
