Dedaye, 5 May

In an effort to green the environment and mitigate the effects of the heat wave, the Township Forest Department plans to plant more than 15,000 saplings during the 2025 rainy season in Dedaye Township, Pyapon District, Ayeyarwady Region.

Tree species such as Pyinkadoe, Manjangsha, Malaleuca, Seinpangyi, and Khayay will be planted as part of the initiative.

To promote environmental sustainability and help regulate soil quality and temperature, the department will also distribute seedlings free of charge to the public, government offices, and basic education schools. The goal is to encourage the community to plant and care for trees independently every rainy season, according to an official from Dedaye Township Forest Department.—Azer Lin
