THE opening ceremonies for the People’s Military Service Training 12 were held at various military commands yesterday. Eligible citizens attended the military training in their respec­tive regions. The commandants of training depots gave opening speeches.

 

The Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, the region and state chief ministers, commanders, and relevant officials attended the events, greeted trainees and presented cash prizes, food­stuffs, and materials to them.

 

The People’s Military Ser­vice Law was enacted as every citizen is under a duty to safe­guard Our Three Main National Causes: Non-disintegration of the Union, Non-disintegration of national solidarity and Per­petuation of sovereignty. The People’s Military Service Law came into effect on 10 February 2024, aiming to conduct military training courses. The first in­take commenced on 8 April 2024, and those who have completed the People’s Military Training are currently serving in vari­ous military units, fulfilling their responsibilities for national defence and security. — MNA/ KTZH
