Police seize pistol, bullets in vehicle search in Dawei

A police squad confiscated a gun and bullets from two motorists in a vehicle search in Dawei, the capiotal city of Taninthayi Region on 11 January; the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.

 

An anti-crime team intercepted an unlicensed car in front of a police outpost in Einshaepyin Ward, Dawei at about 11:05 p.m. on 11 January. The car driven by a man named Saw Myo Naing (alias) Win Naing, 39 years of age with his colleague Saw Win Sein, 56 years old was heading to Dawei from Mon State. The police discovered a pistol, eight bullets and two mobile phones from a backpack belonging to the driver.

 

The two motorists are being questioned over possession of weapons by the local police station, the MOHA said.—MOHA
