Kawthoung, October 30
With the collaborative effort of MPs, departments and Information and Public Relations Department, public talks titled “ Rural Areas Development” was conducted at the village administrator’s office in Maliwann village in Kawthoung township, Taninthayi region yesterday afternoon.
At the talks, Kawthoung District Information and Public Relations Department head Daw Zin Nanda Oo explained the aim of the talks. Then, MP U Khin Zaw of Pyithu Hluttaw made an introductory speech. During the talks, Dr. Khin Zaw, head of the district public health department, dealt with systematic healthcare services being provided to the rural people by the public health department in order to help them achieve healthy life from their childhood till they become old.
Assistant Director U Thurein Tun, of the District Rural Development Department, explained development works being conducted for the development of rural areas, vocational training courses conducted with the aim of providing job opportunities for rural people, suggesting rural people throwing rubbish away systematically.
Dr. Naing Tin Htut, of the District Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department, shared knowledge about livestock breeding, explaining diseases that can be passed on to human from animals and the ways to protect those diseases.
Staff officer U Thet Soe, of Agricultural Department, shared methods of growing paddy, betel, rubber and coffee and ways of using fertilizers and insecticides. The panelists answered quarries raised by attendants in the talks.
