A rural electrification facility was inaugurated in Singu Township, Mandalay Region to hail the 72nd anniversary of the Union Day.

 

The rural electrification structure was unveiled by the regional MPs U Aung Than Tun and Dr. Kyaw Naing Oo, officials from the Department of Rural Development (DRD) and U Soe Than Htike, Manager from the township Electricity Supply Enterprise by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the regional legislator U Aung Than Tun said that availability of electricity will enable the socioeconomic development in the region, thereby contributing to establishment of small and medium-scaled enterprises. The move will also create job opportunities for local people and improve economic growth. An official from the DRD then explained the benefits of the Emerald Green Project.

 

The rural electrification project was implemented with more than Ks. 19 million, according to a village official. The ceremony came to an end after a resident spoke words of thanks.—Min Zaw Oo (IPRD)
