MEMBER of the State Administration Coun­cil Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Admi­ral Tin Aung San received Mr Abhay Thakur, Ambassador of India to Myanmar, at the SAC Office yesterday afternoon.

They cordially exchanged views on the loss and damage in the powerful earthquake which centred 20 kilometres northeast of Mandalay on 28 March, ongoing search and rescue operations by foreign countries and international or­ganizations, humanitarian aid of India to the earthquake-af­fected people and the poten­tial for providing technological assistance in the rehabilitation period.

The meeting was also at­tended by officials from the Un­ion Minister’s Office. — MNA/ TTA
