A two-storey wooden house and four apartments have been consumed by the fire that broke out in a tea shop after a gas explosion on 23 January.
Three people—one man and two women—were killed and four others injured in the incident. The fire also affected 53 people from nearby area. The Director of the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Win Shwe together with authorities donated Ks. 900,000 for the deceased and Ks. 100,000 for the injured people.
They also furnished the fire victims with and relief supplies such as construction materials and rice worth Ks. 711,300 and drinking water, cooking oil, cooking pots, and blankets.—Myo Min Thein
