The South Dagon-Thuwunna Bridge which connects between Thingangyun Township and South Dagon was inaugurated yesterday.

 

Yangon Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein attened the bridge opening ceremony and gave remarks. Afterwards, the chief minister, deputy chairman of the regional Hluttaw U Lin Naing Myint, Yangon Mayor U Maung Maung Soe, MPs of Hluttaw formally opened the bridge. They opened the stone inscription of the bridge by pressing the buttons and sprinkled the scented water on it. Then they inspected the strength of the bridge.

 

The new facility will help those who are going to Industrial Zone-1 in South Dagon Township as well it will bring convenience for vehicles. 

 

With the supervision of the Special Bridge Construction Team and Yangon City Development Committee the new facility was constructed at a cost of K 5,800 million by Myat Noe Thu Construction Company on 15 November 2017. The bridge which is 258 meters long and 11.5 meters wide was completed on 24 August 2018. 

 

Present on the occasion were officials from the regional government, MPs of Hluttaw, departmental personnel, members of the Construction Company and local residents.
