Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counsellor and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar received Mr Watanabe Hideo, Chairman of Japan-Myanmar Association and former Member of the House of Councilors of Japan, at 2 pm yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they had a frank and cordial exchange of views on matters related to the further expansion of Japanese investments in Myanmar during the next term of the government, the continued provision of socio-economic development assistance to the people of Myanmar including education and health sectors, the enhancement of mutually beneficial cooperation particularly in economic and investment sectors, and strengthening of people-to-people contacts, especially among the younger generation. The meeting was also attended by U Kyaw Tin, Union Minister for International Cooperation and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. —MNA
