Kalewa, 4 February

Installation of a 48.96 mile long 66 kV Yazagyo-Kalay-Kalewa power transmission line and construction of a 66/11 kV 5 MVA sub-power station were undertaken in Kalewa Township, Sagaing Region to ensure availability of electricity round the clock.

Construction of both power transmission line and sub-power station was 100 percent completed and now electricity is being supplied to Kalewa via the sub-power station on a trial basis. Electricity will be distributed to Mawlaik Township through the newly-built sub-power station.

The opening ceremony of the sub-power station will be held on 10 February, according to a source from an official of the Electricity Supply Enterprise under the Ministry of Energy and Electricity.—Thiha
