Myanmar shipped 6,310 tonnes of rice to foreign trade partners via the maritime trade in the week ending on 19 August, generating a revenue of US$2.619 million.
The event was attended by Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine, the deputy minister, the permanent secretary, directors-general, Mr David Carden, Head of the UNOCHA office and officials.
The second-day meeting of the State Peace Talks Team and the Restoration Council of Shan State-RCSS delegation was held at the meeting hall of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre on 31 August morning.
Amid high agricultural input costs, the Myanmar Rice Federation imported 177,000 tonnes of urea fertilizers and distributed 115,000 tonnes of urea fertilizers at fairer prices than the prices that are sold in the market.
The Ministry of Commerce stated that the country pocketed over US$13 billion from international trading in four and a half months of the 2022-2023 financial year.
