Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, U Soe Aung, permanent representative of Myanmar to UN U Kyaw Moe Tun, Director general of Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, U Kyaw Moe Oo and official from department of disaster management attended Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction held from 13th to 17th May in Geneva, Switzerland.
MRF calls for government intervention to regulate rice market

The Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) called for government intervention, including regulation with policy and laws, subsidies and exploration of markets, in a bid to promote the rights and benefits of farmers, according to a recent press release from MRF.
FDI totals $2.56 bln as of 11 May in current fiscal year
