ON 6 April 2025, Mr Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar, represented the President of the Thai-Myanmar Association for Friendship, in handing over a backhoe, valued at THB1 million, to the Mandalay Region.

The handover took place in front of Sky Villa Condominium in Mandalay, with U Aung Kyaw Moe, Minister of Social Affairs of the Mandalay Region government, receiving the donation.

The aim of donating the backhoe is to support Mandalay in returning to normality as swiftly as possible by using it for rescue operations and recovery of bodies trapped beneath collapsed buildings following the earthquake on 28 March 2025, as well as for debris removal at Sky Villa and other affected sites in Mandalay.

On the same occasion, the ambassador also witnessed the donation of relief supplies from CP Motor Myanmar, which donated two canvas tents, and MK Distribution, which donated 45,000 packets of MAMA instant noodles to aid those affected by the disaster in Mandalay. The donations were handed over to representatives of the Mandalay Regional government.
