Japan's health ministry said it confirmed 3,427 new cases of coronavirus infection in Tokyo on Sunday.
The daily tally was down 1,683 from a week ago and marked the 12th straight day of week-on-week decline.
The ministry also confirmed 25 deaths in the capital.
Nationwide, it confirmed 44,729 new cases and 251 deaths on Sunday.
