Mongpyin, 31 January

A training course on carpentry and masonry was opened at the meeting room of the Department of Rural Development (DRD) in Mongpyin, Eastern Shan State on 30 January.

The vocational training course was conducted by the DRD under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation with a view to creating better job opportunities for rural people and improving their socioeconomic status. At the ceremony, Township Administrator U Arkar Tin Oo gave an opening speech and an official from the DRD explained matters relating to the training course. Next, Assistant Director of the Department of Planning Daw Wah Wah Thin presented teaching aid materials to the trainees.

A total of 20 trainees throughout the township will be given practical and theoretical lectures by the course instructors during the one-month training course.—Nay Lin (Nyaunglebin)
