No casualties were reported after a 12-wheeler truck carrying cattle caught fire in Gyobingauk Township, Bago Region yesterday afternoon.
Around 3 p.m. on 7 May, the truck hauling 25 cattle caught fire in front of a guesthouse on the Yangon-Pyay Road in Gyobingauk Township. The fire is attributed to have started from the truck’s braking system. The truck on the way to Pyay from Yangon was driven by a man identified as Ko Aung Phyo from Nattalin Township.
A group of firefighters from a nearby fire brigade rushed to the scene of the fire and completely extinguished the blaze at about 3:15 p.m. by using a fire engine. Action is being taken against the truck driver over reckless driving by the local police station.—Zeyar Tun
