US President Donald Trump says his administration is poised to clinch a trade agreement with China.
Trump tweeted on Thursday that negotiators are "getting very close to a big deal."
Several US news agencies have reported the two countries have reached a "phase one" trade agreement in principle.
And, the Trump administration is reportedly planning to hold off on another round of tariffs on China that were due Sunday.
Some reports are saying that the US has offered to lower its tariffs if Beijing commits to purchasing large quantities of US farm produce.
