Two police officers shot dead in Dimawhso Township

Two police officers were shot dead by unidentified armed men in a village in Dimawhso Township, Kayah State on 7 January, according to a local.


“The cause of the incident is still unknown because Kayah State hosts many ethnic armed groups,” the local said. Police Sub-inspector Aung Aung Wai from the township police station confirmed the incident, saying the local police launched an investigation into the case.” The homicide occurred on 7 January but it was informed to respective organizations on 8 January.


Two policemen were identified as two police inspectors. In connection with the case, no immediate reports or statements by the local police force are available.
