A pre-coordination meeting to open Korea-Myanmar TVET Teacher Training Institute (KMTTTI) was held in Yangon yesterday morning.

Firstly, Union Minister for Education Dr Myo Thein Gyi delivered an opening speech at the meeting.

The construction works of KMTTTI completed with the aids of Korean government and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Minis try also makes concerted efforts for the development of education sector, said the Union Minister.

According to the former meeting records, KMTTTI will promote the qualifications of TVET teachers and such move can also improve the quality of technical and vocational education which is mainly carried out by the ministry, he added.

The trainee teachers of KMTTTI can grab a chance to learn international technology, said the Union Minister, adding three programmes for Korea-Myanmar TVET Teacher Training Institute (KMTTTI) - TVET Teacher Training Centre, Model GTI and Research and Development Centre.

The Ministry will timely provide the required things for all processes while KOICA provides building, cash assistance for adequate teaching aid materials, trainings and curriculums.

He also made a request to the relevant construction company to construct quality buildings within the set duration.

It is slated to hold the Korea-Myanmar TVET Teacher Training Institute (KMTTTI) Soft Opening Ceremony in October 2020 and it needs cooperation works to implement the KMTTTI successfully which will stand as historic milestone for bilateral relations, he said.

The Korean Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Lee Sang-Hwa said remarks and KMTTTI Headmaster Dr Myo Thura and Project Manager U Aung Khaing Hein briefed the school construction works. The Union Minister and Korean Ambassador inspected the compound of KMTTTI. Afterwards, the Union Minister and party also inspected SITE and met with the Principals and officials.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with officials and Rectors of National Education Policy Commission, National Curriculum Committee, National Education Standards and Quality Assurance Evaluation Committee, Rectors’ Committee.
