Hlaingbwe, 12 January


A ceremony to wrap up a sewing course for women from Internally displaced people (IDP) camps in Myaing Gyi Ngu Special region, jointly organized by the township Department of Social Welfare under Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, UN Women Affairs Association and the Township Women Affairs Association, was held at the school in Ayelinthaya field in Myaingkyingu Town, Hlaingbwe Township, Kayin State on 11 January.


At the event, Kayin State Social Affairs Minister U Bo Bo Wei Maung and deputy Director of the state Department Social Welfare Daw Aye Myint delivered speeches. Then, in charge person of UN Women Affairs Association Daw Sandar Win spoke words of thanks. Afterwards, Director of Women Affairs Association from Thandaunggyi clarified the purpose of the training course and urged the trainees to practically apply the lessons learned in the training to generate more income in their families.


Next, a trainee spoke words of thanks to officials on behalf of the trainees. This was followed by the presentation of prizes to three outstanding trainees by U Bo Bo Wei Maung.


The one-month training course which ran from December 11, 2020 to January 10, 2021 was attended by 20 trainees from IDP camps in Myaing Gyi Ngu Special region. Officials also presented a sewing machine to each of the trainees.
