The Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank in Wakema Township has started disbursing agricultural loans for the 2025 season, beginning with 53 farmers in Zukkani Village. A total of K 150,000 per acre was provided for 286 acres of rain-fed paddy fields.
Township bank manager Daw Aye Aye Tin met with farmers to explain loan terms and repayment procedures. The loan program will expand to 132 village tracts, supporting 53,683 acres with over K 80.5 billion in funding. Farmers repaying by September will remain eligible for future loans.— Hluan Thiha (Wakema)
