Well-wishers donated cash for the flood-stricken areas in Myanmar. Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye accepted the cash at the Yangon Region’s Department of Disaster Management yesterday.
The Union Minister assured that the donated funds will be put under the management of National Disaster Management Committee for appropriate supplies and rehabilitation works.
The well-wishers then explained about their donations of K4.2 million from alumni of University of Medicine 1(1972- 1980), K14.3 million from 1983 intake of Yangon Institute of technology, K0.5 million from Tech Myanmar Family, K 700,000 million from U Tin Maung Soe, Dr Khin Mar Soe, their sister Daw Tin Ma Gyi and Daw Khin Aye Mu (PyinOoLwin).
The Union Minster received the cash donations and returned honour of certificates before viewing search and rescue equipment displayed by the companies.—MNA
