With the aim of ensuring food security, winter agricultural loans are being disbursed to farmers in Chaungzon Township of Mon Sate, and as of December 3, a total of K. 43.9 million has been dispensed to 80 farmers from 11 villages in the Township for 439 acres of farmland.
The bank dispenses K 100,000 per acre of croplands in the Township. The bank will continue to disburse the loans to the rest of farmers in the Township, according to Daw Thida Tun, manager of the Bank.
Chaungzon Township Agriculture Department has earmarked to grow 4054 acres of oilseed crops including 3937 acres of sunflower, 106 acres of groundnut and 11 acres of sesame this year’s winter crops growing season in the Township.—Ko Kyaw (Chaungzon)
