THE Bogyoke Aung San Biographical Film Production working committee held its eighth meeting at the National Theatre on Myoma Kyaung Street in Yangon yesterday.

At the meeting, committee chair Thura U Aung Ko, who is also Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, said: “The production team is stronger now, after passing through different stages.”

He said up to 116 parts of the script have been compiled — enough for the whole movie.

“The assistance provided by historians must be acknowledged. The movie should be based on authentic facts, without decreasing its artistic value. It is believed that the movie team is working with technicians. As the movie is a historical documentary, it must have an excellent script based on real events. Its success also depends on superb performances, screening, and background music. The film needs standard subtitling as it is meant for international distribution,” he said.

The vice chair of the working committee and the Deputy Minister for Culture, U Kyi Min, also spoke at the meeting. Later, Secretary U Tun On and Joint Secretary 2 U Lu Min presented a report on the progress of work and future programs. A general round of discussions then followed. The Union Minister made the concluding remarks.—MNA (Translated by TMT)
