ORGANIZED by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Cul­ture and funded by the ASE­AN-China Cooperation Fund (ACCF), the opening ceremo­ny of the Capacity-Building Training on Monitoring and Evaluation of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025 was held at the Novotel Yangon Hotel at 9 am yesterday.

 

Attending the event were Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mya Zan, Ambassadors and Heads of Missions of the People’s Republic of China, Cambodia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Myanmar, trainees from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Viet Nam (CLMV), and guests.

 

The ceremony com­menced with a traditional Myanmar dance performance by students from the National University of Arts and Culture (Yangon). Following this, U San Lwin, Deputy Director-Gener­al for the ASEAN Socio-Cul­tural Community, delivered a welcome address online.

 

Deputy Minister Daw Nu Mya Zan then gave a speech, highlighting that by equipping responsible personnel from the working groups of the ASE­AN Socio-Cultural Communi­ty (ASCC) with the necessary skills and knowledge, effective monitoring and evaluation of the ASCC Blueprint can be achieved. She noted that such capacity building would help carry out an effective review and assessment of the ASE­AN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025. After the cere­mony, a commemorative group photo was taken.

 

The training course on Monitoring and Evaluation of the ASEAN Socio-Cultur­al Community Blueprint 2025 includes eight trainees each from the CLMV countries, along with one representa­tive from each relevant ASCC working group sector in Myan­mar, bringing the total number of participants to 39. The train­ing will take place from 1 to 3 July. — MNA/MKKS
